About the Artist:
Ian R. Pearsall was born in Salisbury, Rhodesia to parents from Stoke-On-Trent, England. His family lived in Malawi when he was a child and when Ian was a teen, he moved back to the UK. With studies in art education at Newcastle-Under-Lyme College and Nottingham Polytechnic, Pearsall also has a Degree in Design. Yet, he primarily identifies as an Artist. Pearsall's foremost inspiration is the post industrial landscape along with the streets of Stoke-On-Trent where he traces his roots and family's history through his drawings. After a move to the English countryside, The Staffordshire, Pearsall painted the landscape that surrounds his residence in Maer Village. Seeing the seasonal change according to Pearsall “gripped his imagination, imposing itself over farmlands rolling undulations; and most excitingly, forests... an extraordinary place steeped in the dark history of ancient Britain, and soaked in myth and mystery. My work is always the journey.. "
