About the Artist:
Glenn Wexler is a multidisciplinary photographer who creates urban themed artworks and installations with a cultural and environmental awareness. When Wexler was 12 back in the 1970s, his best friend and he would often sneak onto the transit system and explore Chicago where they discovered Chinatown. Looking down at the neighborhood from the train platform, Wexler was intrigued by Chinatown’s architectural structures, and people. Wexler states that, “it was as if we discovered another world. This was a life-changing moment, I was fascinated - it expanded my thinking. Years later, when I got my first camera, Chinatown was the place I consciously decided to document first. Since then, I have explored cities in the world, and I have gained profound inspiration in following my sense of curiosity and need for cultural discovery; this is the foundation for my creative process.”
